  报告摘要: 

  The talk will be devoted to spectroscopic studies of linear and nonlinear optical phenomena in antiferromagnetic borates CuB2O4 and Ni3B2O6. These crystals possess complex crystallographic and magnetic structures with magnetic ions occupying non-equivalent positions and competing exchange interactions. This results in several unusual features in their optical spectra in the infrared, Raman and visible-range spectra. In CuB2O4 we will discuss magnetic-field induced second harmonic generation; electronic transitions and genuine crystal-field parameters; lattice dynamics. Antiferromagnetic dichroism was studied in the vicinity of zero-phonon electronic transitions in this complex multisublattice magnetoelectric and was proven to be a sensitive tool for detecting magnetic transitions. 

  报告人简介: 

  Prof. Pisarev has experience in a variety of linear and nonlinear optical and magnetooptical techniques: optical absorption, Faraday rotation, magnetic circular and linear birefringence, ellipsometry, optical harmonic generation, time-resolved Faraday and Kerr rotation; pump-probe methods, Raman light scattering. His main research is devoted to solid state physics with emphasis on optical properties of magnetic crystals and films, semiconductor materials, ferroelectrics.
