THE LECTURE is a part of the Einstein Lecturer Professor Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). According to the program, CAS will invite 10 world top scientists, including winners of Nobel Prize in natural sciences, or equivalents, to make a 1-2 week lecture tour each year in China. The purposes of the lecture tour are to strengthen Chinese scientists' contacts and exchanges with top scientists throughout the world, to introduce front-line scientific concepts and ideas, and to raise innovation among Chinese scientific and
technological researchers.
DR. SHIN-ICHI HIRANO has published more than 300 reviewed original papers mainly in the ceramic area. His research interests include the chemical processing and characterization of ceramic powders, films and inorganic/organic hybrids as well as in-situ
microstructure control of ceramics.
