Dr. Alida Bellosi
Research manager at ISTEC-CNR, Italy. She graduated from the University of Bologna in Physics and received a PhD in Physical Chemistry. In 1976, she joined ISTEC-CNR, where she is currently research manager and Head of Division “Structural Ceramics”. For thirty years, she has been involved in research activities concerning processing-microstructure control and properties evaluation of oxide and non-oxide ceramics and related composites. She contributed to set up procedures for the optimization of functional and structural properties for materials addressed to specific applications. Current projects are related to bio-structural materials, ultra-high temperature ceramics, electroconductive non-oxide ceramics, and transparent ceramics. She has been responsible of contracts with industries, National and European projects, and carries out collaborations with several partners in Europe, in the USA, in Japan, in China. She has collaborated in the organization of International Conferences and she acted as director of a NATO Workshop on Joining. She has edited about 10 books of Proceedings of different events. She has approximately 180 peer-reviewed paper, several patents, has given more than 200 talk and written or co-authored more than 200 papers for conference proceedings.
